Anambas Islands is a district in the Riau Islands Province. As one of the outermost areas in the Republic of Indonesia, Anambas Islands does have relatively limited access. Penjalin Island is a small archipelago in Anambas. Access to weaving can be through Tarempa, the district capital. There is no regular public transportation to get here, so you must rent a speed boat or pompong boat from Tarempa. But don't worry, because weaving is indeed a place worth fighting for.

There are groups of small tropical islands typical of white sandy beaches. Besides being able to explore the beauty of one island to another, you can also do many exciting activities. Snorkeling, swimming in calm shallow waters, or just relaxing in the peaceful island that has not been touched by human development. You could be lazy to go home because you do not want to part with the beauty of the weaver.

Stay at the underwater world-class resort


Pulau Bawah is more famous for the existence of Bawah Reserve, a super luxury resort that targets high-class tourists, mostly from abroad. Lower the Reserve will make you remember Bora Bora, a resort that stands on a turquoise sea, with a small island filled with natural plants. Needless to say, this place is indeed a charming stay destination.

But you can't just come here carelessly. To stay at this resort, you must make a reservation with data verification first. Resort visitors will usually be picked up at Hang Nadim Airport, Batam. You can also access Pulau Bawah from Tarempa by speedboat, but you will need about four to five hours. What is unique, the time in Pulau Bawah does not follow the Time of Western Indonesia, but one and a half hours faster.

Arung Hijau Beach is actually not the most beautiful beach in Anambas. This beach does not have white sand, but more filled with rocks. The waters are relatively calm, thus making Green Arung a pleasant swimming spot. The location is also pretty good because it's quite close to Tarempa.

The main beauty of this island comes with dusk. The view of the sunset here is very spectacular. You can see beautiful color gradations in the western horizon, while admiring the golden rays of the returning sun. That said, this is the best spot to enjoy the sunset on Anambas.

Admire the grandeur of the seven levels of Temburun Waterfall


Anambas is not just a row of beautiful and exotic islands. The Regency also has a unique and magnificent waterfall; Temburun Waterfall. Located in East Tarempa, you can reach this place by land trip for one hour. If you choose to take a pompong boat, the travel time needed is only half an hour.

The main feature of this tourist destination in Anambas is its flow which has seven levels. Each level seemed to change the direction of the flow of water so that it seemed to meandering on a rocky hill. From the top of the waterfall, you can also see beautiful views of the bay and sea. Anambas Islands Regency Government has established Durai Island as a Water Conservation Area. This island together with Pahat, Penjalin, and Mangkai Island are natural habitats where leatherback and hawksbill turtles lay their eggs. Durai has even been developed into a turtle conservation tourism location. Hundreds of thousands of hatchlings (turtle children) have been successfully released into the ocean with supervision and conservation efforts in recent years.
But Durai is not just about turtles. Underwater beauty on this island will also make you fall in love. Its clear and calm waters make this place really fitting as a location for swimming, snorkeling, and diving. Piugus Island is often referred to as the Anambas Maldives because of its panoramic beauty.
